We’re excited to bring you Episode 93 of The BibRave Podcast where we invite Dr. Justin Ross, clinical psychologist, who originally joined us in Episode 26: Probing the Runner Mind. Dr. Ross specializes in a number of health psychology-related areas, including sports and performance, pain management, eating disorders, stress reduction, bariatrics, and mindfulness-based interventions.

In our conversation with Dr. Ross, we dive deep into the idea of mental toughness and how it can improve performance - changing our perception of effort-level and discomfort or pain. We then talk about how to start creating process-based goals and use mindfulness as part of our training. We love having Dr. Ross on because he breaks down simple steps for us to pull through the positivity of running, whether it relates to our own doubt or a performance on race day.

If you’ve ever gotten into your own head - which is all of us! - definitely give this episode a listen. And, as always, you can find us on social - Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Show Notes:

For those digging the sweet ukulele intro music, that comes to us from the talented musician and running coach, Matt Flaherty. Check out his site for more audio goodness!
